Tun Tavern in Philadelphia was the meeting place of the Freemasons in Pennsylvania, and it was here that they formed the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons in 1732. Tun Tavern is also traditionally regarded as the site where the United States Marine Corps was founded.
